PROFESSIONAL AND TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Kiran has devoted more than thirty-five years to the governmental legal sector. He began his career in 1988 as a Class Three Gazetted Officer in the Nepal Judicial Service. In 1995, he joined the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal, where he served as a Government Attorney for nearly twenty-five years until 2019
Kiran acted as Government Attorney, advocating on behalf of the Government of Nepal in criminal and constitutional matters before the Supreme Court for ten years.
Kiran engaged, as one of the team members, in the design and delivery of extensive training programs for government attorneys coinciding with the implementation of the National Penal Code, the National Criminal Procedure Code, the National Civil Code, the National Civil Procedure Code, and the Criminal Offence (Sentencing and Execution) Act.
He is acknowledged as one of the pioneers in the development of specialized training programs for government attorneys, with supervisory responsibility for designing the syllabus of constitutional law training.
In the meantime, he also engaged in teaching law courses to management stream students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for seven years.
Upon completion of his judicial service in 2019, he was appointed as a High Court Judge, a position he held for more than five years.
Kiran joined Kathmandu University as a visiting faculty in 2024.
